Understanding SIRA

What SIRA compliance meansfor your premises.

The applicable requirement is assessed against the business activity, premises type and current authority criteria.

  1. 01

    Requirements are site-specific

Security requirements and approval procedures depend on the business activity, premises type and applicable SIRA requirements.

  2. 02

The system must be planned correctly

Coverage, equipment, recording, alarms, connectivity and commissioning steps are reviewed so the design and installation align with the applicable requirement.

  3. 03

Approval remains with the authority process

Almoosa Security Systems supports the technical scope, audit coordination and SIRA Approval / NOC process. Formal review, inspection and certification remain with the relevant authority and audit process.

The process

From surveyto ongoing compliance.

Survey, design, installation and commissioning are coordinated before audit, SIRA Approval / NOC support and the ongoing AMC compliance lifecycle.

  1. Stage 01Review

    Site survey & requirements review

We review the premises, business activity and existing security systems to establish the applicable SIRA scope.

  2. Stage 02Coordinate

    System design coordination

Required coverage, equipment and system architecture are defined, with drawings and plan requirements coordinated where applicable.

  3. Stage 03Install

    Installation & commissioning

CCTV, recording, alarms and related security infrastructure are installed and commissioned to the approved or applicable requirement.

  4. Stage 04Verify

    Audit coordination

Recording, system health, testing and any required connectivity are verified before the applicable inspection or audit.

  5. Stage 05Maintain

SIRA Approval / NOC & AMC

We support the SIRA Approval / NOC close-out process, address technical observations within our scope and provide AMC services for ongoing compliance.

Different premises. Different security requirements.

Requirements depend on the premises

The applicable security requirements depend on the licensed activity, premises configuration, regulatory classification and, where relevant, the nature and value of the goods held at the premises.

Security systems are specified accordingly

We assess the applicable SIRA requirements before defining the security solution, which may include CCTV and video surveillance, intrusion detection, alarm systems, access control, panic alarms, perimeter protection and approved monitoring connectivity.

Designed for compliance from the outset

Assessing the requirements before equipment selection helps ensure that the proposed security systems, devices and monitoring solutions are appropriate for the premises and aligned with the applicable SIRA requirements.

SIRA FAQ

Common questionsbefore a SIRA project starts.

01Do I need SIRA approval for my premises?

It depends on the business activity, premises type and applicable Dubai security requirements. We can review the site and activity first and help identify the relevant technical scope.

02Can my existing CCTV system be used?

Possibly. Existing cameras, recording, storage, coverage and connectivity need to be assessed against the applicable requirement. Systems that fall short can often be upgraded or rectified rather than fully replaced.

03Does Video Guard apply to every premises?

No. Video Guard requirements apply to specified premises and activities. We confirm whether it forms part of the applicable security requirement before the system is designed or quoted.

04What happens during the security audit?

The installed security systems are checked against the applicable requirement. We prepare the system for audit, support the technical inspection process and address observations where required.

05How long does the process take?

The total timeline depends on the premises, current system condition, design requirements, installation scope and authority or audit scheduling. We establish the practical project sequence after the initial assessment.

06What happens if the audit raises observations?

We review the technical observations, complete the required rectification within our scope and support the system through the applicable reinspection or close-out process.

07Does SIRA apply outside Dubai?

SIRA regulates the security industry in Dubai. Projects in other Emirates are subject to their applicable local requirements. Almoosa Security Systems supports security and technology projects across the UAE.
